Why Should You Care If We’re ASE-Certified?

A lot of repairs are getting more expensive because they’re so high-tech, and that’s why few people within the automotive industry are called “auto mechanics” anymore because they are computer whizzes and diagnostic troubleshooters who are more techie than the old stereotype of a person with a wrench.  Isn’t it wise to have a team of ASE-Certified techs working on your vehicle to make sure it’s done right?

Nordgren Automotive employs ASE-Certified technicians, but what does this certification actually mean, and why is it important? Firstly, it means that these technicians underwent several tests to earn the recognition and certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). In other words, it means our technicians are well-versed in practically every mechanical and electrical component and system in your car. However, let's break it down even further, so you can see exactly why it is important to have only ASE-Certified technicians examine and repair your car.

Currently, there is an increasing number of computers operating in cars, and so cars are becoming more and more high-tech, which is why we don’t refer to our team as auto mechanics, but as technicians. The stereotype of an auto mechanic covered in grime, holding a wrench has changed, as technology is so prevalent in the vehicles today. With this ASE Certification, our technicians have had the proper training necessary to repair cars equipped with this technology. Because it is an ASE requirement that all technicians renew their certification every five years, our team has made a commitment to their further education, so they can stay abreast of the ever-changing automotive industry.

In order to achieve this certification, technicians must have a minimum of two years experience in the auto repair field, along with other specific criteria and requirements. Next, technicians must pass a specialty exam, which can focus on a certain aspect of a car, such as brakes or suspension systems.

As you can see, there is a lot of hard work that goes into achieving the title of “ASE-Certified,” so wouldn’t you prefer to have a team of ASE-Certified techs working your vehicle? Since you know the work was done right, we think yes. To schedule an appointment with the team of ASE-Certified technicians at Nordgren Automotives, call us at (763) 703-1365.
